Featured Designer: Jumping June Bug

This week's featured designer creates the cutest crocheted clothing for little ones.  Jennifer, owner of The Jumping Junebug, is a talented artist that creates beautiful and unique pieces for young children.  I had to opportunity to ask Jennifer about her designs and how she got started in her craft.

How did you come up with the Name of your Shop?
I had my daughter in June a few years ago and I call her my Junebug. "The Jumping Junebug" was a natural fit for my shop when I deciding to focus on baby and children's items.

Tell us a little bit about your shop and what you think makes it unique?

My shop has a variety of styles of hats that can be made to order in baby to kids' sizes. I also make dresses that combine crochet and fabric. My shop is unique because it provides quality, handmade items in styles that you don't see everywhere. My work is high-quality and I don't list anything I wouldn't put on my own children (and so often do!). It is easy to find crochet hats sold just for newborns that are all very similar and are suited for a one-time photography prop. And while many of my items would be perfectly adorable for a photo shoot, they are thoughtfully made for daily wear - styles little ones love and that are made to last.

What is your favorite item at the store and why?
It's hard for me to pick one favorite item! Right now, I am just in love with this dress

I love the shade of green and the print. It puts me in the perfect summery mood.

How did you get started in your craft?
I knew the basics of crochet growing up because both my mom and grandma were crafters. When I had my daughter, I really got interested in handmade clothing and dedicated much more time to the craft.
